Early Access Program for a new build of PHPStorm software, 182.2371.3, has been announced on May, 17. The build is available for download on vendor’s website. Early Access Program gives free access to pre-release software version. Users are welcome to test new features however beware that Early Access Program build is much less stable than beta so you take risks.
Important features include but not limited to: FQCN completion; update of structural search and replace; easy CodeSniffer/MessDetector setup.
FQCN completion will now match the namespace. Users no longer need to invoke or type completion for each part of \Zend\Mail\Message and put in ZMM instead of it.
Structural search and replace for PHP has been completely reworked. New version includes a lot of new features and makes writing of patterns much simpler. For instance, users now specify the type of structural variable. Structural variable will allow to find a call to the given method with string as the first parameter.
With new version of PHPStorm automatic configuration of projects becomes more enhanced. Automatic setup of CodeSniffer and MessDetector has been introduced. To make the process easier, configurations of CodeSniffer and MessDetector and project-based, rather than application-based. Due to this feature, you can install different versions of these tools; set different sets of rules for different projects etc. It’s compatible with already existing CodeSniffer or MessDetector configurations.
Apart of these enhancements, minor features, important bug fixes and interface improvements have been introduced.
